Mistletoe on English Oak

Does anyone know anything more than what google tells me regarding mistletoe on english oak? I've heard it's very rare, and possibly valuable to the right people. It's just that I spotted an oak not far from me the other day with a fair amount of mistletoe growth, and it's the first time I've ever seen it..

isn't mistletoe a protected species.....it's illegal to remove it?

I don't know about removing it but you can harvest it the London markets are full around the end of November time:001_smile:

At ickworth park nr bury st eds, there's a big oak with several clumps of mistletoe growing as high as 60ft - i'll try to find a picture.
