What work shop would you like

I would like to get a quote right occasionally. So if there was a workshop that stopped me looking at a big hedge.... then thinking I would have it sorted out in 2 days when it actually takes a week... Well that would be usefull.

Also identification biased stuff may be usefull. ie. Trees, insects, pests, fungus, infections etc.

I'm at this job for 20 years, I still get it wrong from time to time................:bongsmi:

I suppose there will be a bias towards climbing though? I think you should stay away from the kit fetish aspects, i.e., "look at what you could do with this shiny gizmo..."

Back to basics.

85% of arb work done in the UK is old school, and if it aint broke don't fix it is their attitude. Many firms have no idea what a VT or a portawrap or an ascendeur are. They are moving from horse and cart to petrol power and you want to tell them about space travel.

Good solid and safe work practicies, basics of equipment and minimums for aerial rescue. Hazzard awareness. There is no point making the job more complicated with " shiny gizmos" when many firms think the 3 way karabiner is cutting edge. Environmental and conservation concerns.

Bats , bollards and bio oil.

I would like someone who can give me advice on equipment who has personally tried it and is not just trying to sell me it. After two years i have sill not found a harness that suits me This year i would like to get a new harness as i am unhappy with the one i have. What am i meant to do buy every single harness to find out. I find trying them on for a few moments at a show just isn't enough!

Dont like the Kolibri anna?

No i just can't get on with it. I like the fact it gives great back support, on take downs it's great but it's too bulky the rest of the time, and the leg straps are a nightmare they slide round so the thin bit is underneath which hurts. Also i can't adjust the strap for the sliding D's so when hanging in the harness it tips you backwards, if you know what i mean? Oh and the side D's are rigid which get caught on everything.

My first harness which needed replacing anyway had no sliding D and offered no back support.

if any of you are in leeds any time call at the shop and you can play in the inside tree (20' tall)with any of the dozen harness that i have. the best way to decide, i think.
