No stress

Hi guys I’ve a greenmech 160 Quad chip and the no stress isn’t working machine still works fine but just try’s to eat timber anyone know where to start thanks

Hi Chris ,

Is the alternator belt tight ?

Are the flywheel drive belts in good condition and tight ? (Make sure they are as the tensioner can sieze).

Yes all seems to be good

Rev the machine up with no timber going through, rollers spinning forwards. Drop the throttle down to low revs. Are the rollers still spinning at low revs? Or are they stopping?

 

Get a volt meter. Locate your forward solenoid valve. Check to see if the hirschmann plug is getting voltage. Should have no voltage at low revs and 12v at max revs. The stress control works at adding 12v above a specific rpm to engage rollers and removing voltage below a specific rpm to stop rollers.

Ya there stopping when I drop the revs I’ll check voltage next thanks

Would a underperforming battery be a good call ?. Yes I know the alternator is running but you know how modern electronicals can be

It’s a new enough battery but I’ll check that with the voltage meter too thanks

Have you opened the tanks out and physically checked the condition of the belts ? I would carefully try levering down the belt tensioner pulley to make sure the tensioner assembly isn't siezed  ?

This is the most common no-stress issue on a Quadchip.

Thanks @Jase hutch I will be stripping it down properly Saturday morning and I will check that first all belts were changed 3 months ago but I couldn’t be sure of the condition of the tensioner thanks everyone for the reply’s at least I know where to start now 👍
