Coppice Hazel - how long is it good for?

Hi all! 
New to the forum.

Just wondering how people are storing their coppiced Hazel, under cover or outside?
Also, how long is your Hazel workable for after cutting? 
I’m trying to prolong the life of some recently cut stakes and binders.

Stick them in a  shed lent up against a wall etc should last about  3 or 4 months without drying out to much.

Thanks Stere, that’s how I have them. Someone said they’d be better off outside on the ground with a tarp over the top but can’t see that myself.

I’m afraid the binders won’t keep till the autumn for the next hedge laying season however hard you try.

Under tarp they would probably  go mouldy & rot especially with the weather atm here.

 

If doing that would at least need to keep them off the ground maybe it  could work if you used the hazel tops as a  brash mat etc or they are  up on bearers & not make the stack too big/dense.

My thoughts exactly, think up against the barn walls is the best option and crack on and get them used up asap.
