Trespassing is a civil offence but breaking through a fence is criminal damage.

Yeah, and every traveller has always found the lock to have been broken beforehand, how do you prove it.

Electrifying the fence just makes you more legally culpable, a plain wire you can justify a barb wire shows intentions to do harm regardless of signage.

I have plenty of customers that have electrified barb wire... It's standard these days πŸ˜‚
