They're grand when they work! Clear as day. I'd of just bought us the Stihl ones probably.

We are winching big long gulleys that you can't even see the chokerman at any point as lots of dips.

I wouldn't have bought them 😂

grand for music as well when brashing.

What's wrong with the horn ?

Back in 2020, when my nephew was out here working, he bought and fitted some cheap coms units, worked very well, then they died, and he left.

So it was back to hand signals and shouting.

My newest hired man (18years old) is very into the gear side of things so we’ve got this coming tomorrow.

Seems to get good reviews on Amazon
I’ll let you know how they work out.

we had somthing pretty similar, worked well, somtimes problems in the wet and trying to connect more than 3 people was a bit hit and miss, but over all ok.

Having regularly used sign tree work sign language it's fairly easy to communicate without radios when you work with the same guys for a while.

Things like beer. Cigarettes , fuel and food are simple hand gestures..

ever tried comms??!

the difference is night and day,  think old skool nokia phone texting compared to face to face talking.

Forestry contractors: "Forestry is so hard to make money at."

Also forestry contractors: "The first five grand of those headsets didn't last long. Neither did the second five grand. Hello, 3M? Another five grand's worth, please."

I can assure you this is the ONLY thing they have ever bought us. And they are all under warranty. Can't really say they're that great for reliability.

Defos make the job a lot safer and easier.

@Botty Cough doubt you'd be able to see a high vis jacket never mind a hand gesture from bottom to the top of this.

Hand signals probably work when you're mincing around little Miss Daisy's garden meadow snipping her hedges but not here. Xxxxxxxxx

Absolutely. Unless you want to die, if the operator hauls in and you're in the zone chokering you are as good as dead.

And no we don't use those horn things that American's use. Don't even know if you can get them. And I doubt you'd hear them that far up a hill surely in the weather we get in these places.

Surely you have a way of working without radios or phones?
