They are blind riveted in place.....a press fit if you like. The pawls are metal with a return spring on each. Why do you need to replace them? If you have a valid reason then a new flywheel comes with them already fitted as unless to have some special equipment to remove and install you won't be able to do it..hence why flywheels come with them factory fitted.

There's a good, used flywheel on the bay at the moment with pawls fitted for only £20

Wow! Thanks Verteran Member for a quick reply to my query. Yeah, I kind of thought that would be the case. The springs are used up (not completely complete)  and stuck up a bit but sprayed a bit of lub oil and it freed them up, so will still be able to use them for the time being. I have plenty of these saws...so plenty of spare parts. I saw the flywheel for £20 on Ebay as well.

I like these saws because they are light and easy to service/fix and lots of pretty cheap spares out there still. I'm also a great fan of Mcculloch Pro Mac 610....my first chainsaw back in 1984.

Take care, Tom

I am sure i have taken those pins out, you can buy the return springs.

The pawl return springs are available. I remember you had to wind them on over the pawl, as the pawls were factory fitted to the flywheel via those 'pins'

If you note the IPL doesn't list the pins seperately
