Stagwooded Elm

Thought i would post some piccys of an Elm job we did yesterday. I felt very priveleged to be working on an elm this size & still alive (my first one in 14 years!). The job was to remove all the stag wood out of it, to make it safe as it was along side a country lane & to leave all the timber:icon14:. Job went really well apart from a few problems getting into the crown due to the amount of epicormic growth and also had to dodge a few hail storms aswell (brrrr..it was a cold day).

Not at all,

being a proper southerner ( 10 miles from the sea at the bottom of the country) I have never knowingly seen a live elm that size . Plenty of sickly tiddlers though.

your a southener? where you from?

<-- hastings, east sussex here.

You beach boys need to get into Brighton and feel the elm-love there.... there seem to be quite a few East Anglian elms cropping up on the forums here, which is a bit of a surprise, I always thought they were stuck up north.... Good stuff!
