Purchasing land through pension plan

Was speaking to a client last week about purchasing land for a yard. We're currently renting yard space, about an acre, great spot but we're basically paying off someone else's mortgage. He advised he had bought his current business propertys by purchasing them through his pension plan, so he doesn't get pumped by tax when he eventually cashes in. Anyone else gone down this route?

Think you need to get clarification as to if you're meaning agricultural land, a farm stables for example or business & commercial premises.

As they are all very different prospects as agricultural land isn't usable for a yard, a existing stables for example would be however.
