Briggs & Stratton Vanguard issues on Forst/ Timberwolf

We are setup and approved for Vanguard warranty. We have all the diagnostic kit and been on the service courses. We did have several issues with the earlier engines, looms, fuel pumps, sensors etc. The manufacture of the components has changed now. We can report little issues lately on the engines. The 37hp cable throttle unit is soon being superseded the 40hp electric throttle version.

With EFI engines, there is obviously an ECU and this ECU needs software updates. No different to your phone really. B&S turn out 500 engines a day, they are shipped around the world and stored in various manufacturers facilities. The engine could be 12 months old for example when its actually used and in that period software updates, possibly preventing forthcoming issues need carrying out. The manufacture of the product, TimberWolf, Forst, GreenMech in this case need to be checking for updates and making sure when the complete machine leaves their factory that the engine is up to date.

It is also the dealers responsibility to check for updates and act accordingly on PDI and every service.

We have been through this process and we can support the engines fitted into GreenMech wood chippers.

Pretty sure we are the only dealer who are, not just on GreenMech, but the other mentioned brands also.
