Grand Designs - My New Wood Shed

The very mild roof fall is due to planning and wanting to be able to stand up inside! I should also be able to reverse into the main gate (to be) and stand in the trailer operating the splitter; well that's the plan anyway altho I'm sure the splitter will stay there sometimes.

Am using recycled corrugated for the roof, landowner will erect guttering and water storage. You can see the cladding (6" and 1" gap) on the floor in the middle. Will probably scrape the levels on the ground in the little but having the stone barn (not mine) down the right hand side saved a lot of bother and more cladding. My original structure was going to be in the corner of a field miles away and approach landscape whereas now it's about 5 mins from my house and I quite like the entrance being in a portrait orientation.

Pallets will go on the deck and split wood stored in some semblance of order - hopefully!

Anyway, will put up pics as it comes to completion. Thanks for interest and encouragement.

You may find when the soil drys out you dont need the pallets. i find the pallets a pain and ankle breakers especially when you get some bark about the place. I love the shed I need something like that for our kindlett. If you keep the roof low do you not need planning permission ? .

The pther thing about that shed is that there is no concrete going in the ground, and the legs are just held at the bottom, so it is essentially just sat there unanchored. This makes it a temporary building helping planning, which we could get away with as it is such a sheltered spot so there are no wind issues.

Cheers for the advice re the pallets - makes sense that does; see how it goes. The ground is very free draining and stony so that's great.

Re planning, as T9 says, don't need it but have it anyway - only stipulation was that roof came under tiles of existing barn hence max height on r/h side. Had to fall away obviously but didn't want backache! The landlord loves it since it will divert water from the edge of the barn and prevent it seeping back into the barn floor - a win-win situation.

The one disadvantage of course is the site not being windy but hey-ho you can't have everything.
