Bark/slice identification if possible?

Yeah I am confident some are oak and some ash.  The logs with a rotten area around the edge only are oak.  Sapwood rots quickly; heartwood very slowly.

The slice just below your feet in the first batch of photos is ash, no differentiation between heartwood and sapwood.  Also no medullary rays visible.

Cheers Squaredy.

Hi there gentleman,

Just a follow up on my original question, with some new images from my latest cuttings from the same source, just as there were some different options on my first cuttings, I truly appreciate your time and knowledge, I would just love to be 99% sure of what is 🤠

Some photos are of the same piece's

Regards Sean

It all looks very past it if you ask me.  Will be difficult to dry and give little heat when dry.  Assuming it is for firewood try to find logs felled more recently next time.  They have been down and rotting for years.
