Andy's comment had a load of merit, when things are tough then you have to be pro-active in looking for work. Years ago when Barrowcliffs was failing I spent and age (and a fortune) contacting all manner of organisations and potential cutomers looking for work (all to nowt tho'). The presentation of yourself and leaflet is the key as well as the prices.

 

One thing I do find interesting in the various posts from this thread is that we all have to be pro-active yet many of us do not like being "cold called" by people looking for work or indeed sales!

 

The guy who left the leaflet at my house draws my admiration for geting off his backside and looking for work he can handle, however, the missive showed a lack of knowledge of this profession and missed the key points that ought to matter. These may include brief details of your address, a local phone number, details of insurance level and so on.
