They have both front and base mount in series 45. Maybe you're right, take some pics of what you have. In the end it's only switches so must be possible to fix it with something.

Success. Wired up the new box, its slightly smaller,  but fits tighter on the machine, and I cant bolt it to the back plate, but have padded it out and it's a snug fit.

At first, the buttons didnt work and I was convinced I had wired it wrong, but it turns out the cover was on upside down, as the buttons are not actually central in the housing, so the were not making contact inside.

Whole thing cost less than buying two individual micro switches had they been available!
