Possibly but you cannot afford to mess with Lion batteries in case the BMS has been damaged, once they over heat they release their stored electrical energy as a fire which you cannot easily extinguish, all you can do is cool it down.

I’ll be sure to avoid jabbing it with a logpick then.

 

When I poked a hole in my daughters old iPhone battery it left a very nasty scorch in the chopping block.

 

Definitely not one to be tried indoors!

My first saw. Was half dead from the auction house (this is in the era before ebay if anyone remembers that). Think the replacement Stihl 18" bar was sub 30 quid at the time.
