CE numbers (Level 2 certificate in Arb)

Hi this might sound a bit like sour grapes but just got my results for unit 4 (tree surgery). I failed with 45%. One of the question on there was about the PPE a groundsman should wear. It asked what they should wear how it protected the and what the CE numbers were for all the PPE. How many of you can list the CE number for PPE, I think this is a ridiculous part to the question. And if you need to check the you should just look them up.

Did anyone else do this paper before Christmas? I think the question about first aid was unfair asking what would you do in the event of a co worker getting a bad cut. As it only states in the knowledge requirements about first aid regulations.

Hope to here your views on this

well if they asked for CE numbers you should appeal as that would depend on the manufacturer and the notifying body they us??????

as for EN numbers 397, 1731, 352, 20354 and think that gloves n trouseres are 381 pt1 n 5??

sad hehhh?? i can guess who wrote that question and why as well, one would guess that the marking scheme would have placed more importance on a good description of the 3 types of desine and also speed ratings wit there relative use rather than rew spouting numbers.

as for the first aid question, again i think that will be structured arround the rules and regs quoted on the cylibus as they mention a number of best practice.

as with any exam though if you know the answer its easy, if its the area you have not studied or dont know too well its not.

dont be dishartened try again

you will do better next tiem

May just be sour grapes on my part, revised and much as I did for the soil etc exam last year and got 78% in that one. Even the out tutor thought the paper was hard. TBH it may of asked for EN numbers but still I still think that is a lot to ask. Cant believe the was no question on BS3998, as it is 1 of the 3 Learning objectives.

By the way Kev I did my PA1 and PA6 the other day with a trainer called Ian Gower he is also the south of England distributer for stem injectors. His site is IG Horticulture - Sales, supply, hire and Horticulture Training
