just wondered if anyone has used one of these or the timberwolf 18/100 just wanted to no if they are any good. i have my jo-beau witch i use most off the time as most the work i do is in back gardens. i have some re-pollard and small Reduction jobs coming up all off witch are in the front gardens i would like a timberwolf 125 but ent really got the money at the moment any reports would be greatfull thanks martin

Friend of mine has 1 been using it today very good machines for what they are. Like any gravity fed chipper the material needs a bit more work, and wet stuff and conifer needs feeding to prevent blocking. But tbh I don't know if it would be any better than your current chipper.

Ran a 18/100G for a few years. Good little chipper with sharp blades, BUT-

 

It can't fit in gardens like the J-B or Stevies wee Greenmech, and from the vids the performance looks the same but you've still got the drag!

 

I think you'd be better off trying to find a decent second hand TW125 or similar. I can't believe the difference in chipping time and productivity since upgrading. It will handle everything as well, whilst the gravity fed machines always struggled on ivy, fruit tree brash and thorny stuff.

 

Depends on what the majority of work is really mate. If you can always chip in a back garden the narrow access gravity fed machines are well worth the extra snedding time.

 

Try before you buy as well!
