Farmi Mastersplit WP36

I use a Farmi Mastersplit WP36. When using the PTO drive from my tractor, output is greater than when using the Honda engine, this would suggest there is a greater hydraulic flow from the PTO driven hydraulic pump.

Has anyone considered driving the PTO drive with a petrol engine & reduction gearbox ?

I have only run ours on a tractor a couple of times but couldn't really notice much difference. Where do find the improvement ie splitting, cutting or both? I had thought of trying to convert a diesel engine to run it to save money over the petrol but never got around to it. Our tractor is too handy to be tied up with the processor full time

Is the pto running fast & the honda running slow?
