  1. Hi, whilst using my Farmi Mastersplit WP 36 yesterday, I encountered a problem. Engine started to "miss", slowing down, I stopped it, with the travelling deck, halfway along it's travel. I then tried to re start the engine, but after a couple of pulls, the engine became tight, i.e, it would not turn over. Normally when I try to start the engine, with the travelling deck at halfway, the deck would return to it's start position, this did not happen, it remains at halfway. I removed / disconnected the hydraulic pump assembly from the engine, the engine is ok, it turns over ok & runs fine. On rotating the pump by hand, it rotates a couple of times & then gets increasingly tight. On disconnecting all the hoses from the pump, the pump is still tight. I suspect the pump is faulty, but wonder if it could be something else causing the problem, any one experienced this ? any advice ? The chainsaw motor is free, it can be rotated by hand.
  2. chainsaw runs faster, cuts logs quicker, suspect an increased flow rate
  3. I use a Farmi Mastersplit WP36. When using the PTO drive from my tractor, output is greater than when using the Honda engine, this would suggest there is a greater hydraulic flow from the PTO driven hydraulic pump. Has anyone considered driving the PTO drive with a petrol engine & reduction gearbox ?
  4. Hi, thanks for that, I found numbers on the underside of the pumps that give me the flow rate
  5. Anyone know the flow rate & operating pressure on the hydraulic system, when using the Honda engine, on a WP36 ?
