Cant quite be sure from your pictures, but is the carb a double barrell unit? It looks like its two carbs in one casting? If it is then I guess its got two separate chokes and two separate sets of jets? Either of them could be blocked/not working which could upset the single cylinder. Some of the previous posts have said it wont be a carb problem cos its a single carb/barrell shared by both cylinders, but that doesnt look to be the case?

Spot on, you found the thread and more importantly found the carb breather, my work here is done, happy chipping. I have a dome headed filter in mine but anything would-be an improvment. Now all you need is a muck truck with greedy boards.

Well I've done the carb strip and guess what?! Crap in the "infamous emulsion tube / breather" ! As I blew it out and sprayed in cleaner, bits of wood fell into the throttle body and branch section. That Ozzy knew his stuff eh! I have put a little foam into the hole. Checked the earth on the spark controller / coil earth - seemed fine. Still haven't done valve clearances but that's because I have to start the machine to reverse it out to work on it so no longer cold enough! Thanks again Bushy...:001_smile:
