Yeh times are hard down here, we've had at least 4 pikey bands set up in Minehead in the last few months undercutting everyone. Back climbing with a groundie to weather the storm, still have gardener on part time though. Gladd things are working out for you if you, realy appreciated your help a few months back.

On my way to get rid of my first load of chip, i saw a young lad up a tree on a set of ladders with some 30 stone bloke holding them for him. Nothin wrong with that i hear you say.

Wrong answer, as he was inches away from some major power lines. i then saw him more or less reach in between them,

When leaving i wanted to be a bit nosey, and drove past to see if i knew them.

No sign writing on the truck, little PPE, no chipper, and an old battered Husky.

What do these people think they are playing at?:confused1:

People like this give us good tree surgens a bad name,

I't becoming a bloody joke.

Only wish i had my camera

Phew, I thought it could of been me till I read the 'young lad' and 'husky' bit!

On a more serious note though, there does seem to be quite a few people running round here offering 'lopping and topping' at the moment.

Quoted a very large Ash removal in watermouth the other week, over the main road (so TM required) and the location would require about 80% of it to be lowered. Put 2 days on it for 3 guys, tractor and trailer for timber and 2 guy on stop/go. Thought I would make quite a bit on the logs so quoted him £1100 which I thought was quite a good quote (for the customer) considering the arrangement involved......

The guy phoned to say someone offered to do it for free if they could have the wood!:confused1:
