Is this an Elm sapling?

About 5 miles away, yes. I've been told Lord de Ramsey injects his elms but never really gone looking for them.

He used to, yes, but he stopped at least 10yrs ago and according to him it hasn't made much difference. The elms are all through the village around his estate, including roadside through the village, on both the road to Huntingdon, the road to King's Ripton and out of the village heading north. There are some good ones down Moat Lane too. The best specimens are probably the ones in the garden of Abbott's Ripton Hall. Pre-COVID the gardens were opened once a year for a garden show which was a good day out in its own right and I particularly enjoyed seeing the elms. Hopefully they will start doing it again at some point.

Thanks, I should stop really and look - tend to be just passing through. Bit like people living by the seaside and never going to the beach.

One place I did find was Ravely wood, stuffed with elm. I guess it's a kind of island so the beetles not keen on flying there.
