Think i heard this on here,But is it true that if you rub butter onto your rope/cord it gets the sap off?? :confused1:

I got my new AP cord a bit sticky from doing a pine tree the other day and was going to try this butter trick to see if it works?

Thanks

Don't know about the butter - how would you get the butter itself out of the braid? Maybe you don't need to. :confused1:

I use pure soap flakes.

I guess chuck it into the washing machine after?

I dont know :confused1:

think you may ahve butter between your ears.... Dairy products don't belong on your kit. Chedder on your krabs next or some brie in to lube up your harness.. good luck and stay out the sun your rope will stink....

Not necessarily, Atree. Just soak the offending bite in hand-warm water and leave for a wee while - give it a scrub with an old tooth brush and rinse.

Easy-Peasy.

From what ive read butter does remove sap/resin but then you have to use mayonnaise to remove the butter, marmite to break up the mayonnaise, freeze the lot to -20oC then wack it with a hammer to shatter the marmite:thumbup1:

Or don't bother freezing it and just have it for lunch:laugh1:

Try climbing a decent sized hardwood, by the time you have got to the top and come down most if not all of the resin will be gone. And you will have had some fun to boot.

Dairy products are for your toast and/or sandwitches and/or cooking.
