I have recently done my tickets and started up myself and i want to learn how to identify trees and more or less have a good knowledge about when to cut certain species. Whats the best way to go about it? Any online courses?

There are loads of ‘point and shoot’ apps available now, RFS & RHS websites should also have lots of ident info.

When I started out I always had a good ident book in the truck. If I didn’t know the tree I would look it up rather than try and bullshit the customer. Take a cutting home when you are pricing it up and confirm the ID before doing any cutting, you don’t want to remove all the flowering/fruiting buds by pruning at the wrong time of year.
