Boot regulations

Afternoon

Looking for some advice on boots.

I'm booked in for CS30 & CS31 next month. I'm currently doing a lot of tree work on our farm and decided it would be useful to get some training.

I'm looking at the PPE list and although I already have everything including trousers etc, my standard work boots are CAT S3 boots, when I look at the info them, they are covered under EN20345 (stated on the trainers website)

Currently at screwfix

Would these boots be suitable? Or do I need to splash out on some proper chainsaw boots.

Thanks

Buy SIP PROTECTION Chainsaw Gaiters Class 1 from northern Arb Supplies. Browse our full range of SIP gaiters and take...

Do people wear those!?

I went for some Sthil dynamic boots, they look more like a proper work boot and I’ll need to drive a tractor in them too. Lots of the welly type, but I don’t do wellies anymore, horrible in all conditions.

I know of a pair of those boot covers sat in the saw box at a campsite I used to help look after. One of our gang had been on a saw course through college and proudly donned them (and chaps) to demonstrate his prowess to the boss. He looked like a hockey goalkeeper, made half a cut and then fell over trying to get the saw out. Hopelessly impractical.
