I need a truck for catching chips.

Criteria

1. I don't want to look like a pikie

2. I'd like a tipper

3. Preferably with enough space for secure tool storage when on sites.

4. I don't want to spend more than about £4K

Having scoured E-bay, auto trader I am at a bit of a loss for what to buy. They all seem to look pikie to me.

If you want tool storage then you really need a crewcab or a seperate tool box, and if you only want to spend £4k that probably means a transit, ldv or possibly an older iveco.

You could always put a dump bed on this, not too pikey looking eh? Probably a bit more than you wanted to spend, though. Snackers!

I'd be too scared of dropping stuff on that gleaming machine.

Best value for money tipper at £4k would be an ldv.

Better option imo would be a cabstar pickup, which you could have converted to a tipper when you can afford it. You can buy the conversion kit for about £500.

problem with cabstars is they are crap off road, for the money you're looking at i'd go ldv personally. oh and i wouldnt even consider a tool box or crew cab on a 3.5 ton truck unless you want to go overweight everytime you get half a ton of chips on.
