They let you and other students use a saw like that??? MAdness!!

 

WHY madness, :confused1: there adults with a brain and common sense, the machine has guards and is in good working order. its this "rap em in cotton wool" attitude thats turning this country in to a H+S run sh1t hole!

 

Oh I gonna bid on it, looks a good machine.

If you re read what i wrote i was implying the college were mad, not the students. I worked in FE (further education) for 2 yrs teaching agriculture and believe me the only way my students learnt anything was by having a go themselves, i.e tractor driving, lambing, coppicing, plumbing etc etc but not in a million years would i have been allowed to use a bench like that in a practical with 20 very keen lads and lasses.

 

YOur right, h&s has gone mad and thats a big reason why i left the teaching role as I was becoming more and more classroom based and further away from reala farming.

But when they have ago at some point later in life and have had No training because Further education were to scared to show em the right way who's fault is it then? Life is dangerouse but we have to control riske, farming is dangerouse but lads still have to lean some how. Not having ago at you just hate this H+S mollycoddling bull.
