My Telescopic HTA 85 has decided not to extend, has anyone else had this problem,  it has totally jammed,it managed to move about 1 foot today in a tug of war situation, ive tried spraying WD40 down shalf but that did not help. Has anyone else had this problem?

Loosen the black bit at the join, should be able to separate the two half’s of the shaft. There is a bush on the end of the internal part. There only a couple of quid but fiddly to change

Try a gentle twist, the bush can get misaligned and the lugs pop out of there holes if you have had it stuck and wiggled it to hard.

 

i found graphite powder seems to lube them well.
 

if you have to change to bush remove the cable from the motor end and pull some string back with it to get the cable back through the tube afterwards, it’s a proper fiddly bugger.

i had this, wouldnt move for love or money!

I ended up getting a hacksaw and cutting a section off the end. Took maybe 6 inches or so.

Never got stuck again!  Only thing is it can come out the end when extending it out all the way. Not really a problem as the power cable is like a elastic spring so pulls it back nicely.  But otherwise been fine since.

It was either that or a big f~~king hammer! Tools have 2 choices , work or die!
