Sometimes, if he's unemployed or disadvantaged in some way then HE might get a funding. If he's working for you and YOU need him to get tickets so YOU can get extra work and be compliant, then guess who's gonna have to pay for it..........?

 

Its for the advancment of your business, get the cheque book out already, but maybe contract him to work for you for x amount of time after qualification or else he owes you the money back?

Yeah, there are usually grants kicking around for these if you take an nvq at the same time i think ?

 

Take a look at the Lantra website under the 'landskills' section. They were offering up to 80% towards course fees, but this does depend on where you are, which course/ticket you do, what work the company you work for does etc but is worth a look

Alot will depend on where you are and the age of the person. I know that Craven College in Skipton were offering CS courses at a really low price as they have a Bradford postcode and it was seen as an area of high unemployment. Askham Bryan College in York run an NVQ in Forestry/Arboriculture and part of the NVQ are the CS units. We are thinking of sending one of our trainees there.
