Pedestrian or tracked Stump Grinder

Hello all just wondering what's Peoples thoughts are on at when is best to upgrade to a tracked Grinder?

Currently have a 460 but the lazy arse in me saw a tracked Grinder in full flow and I immediately thought I want one.

What are the pros and cons to upgrade other than cost to buy?

Do you personally charge more per job if you use the tracked Grinder to a pedestrian?

Are they more hard work servicing and general maintenance wise?

Thanks in advance

You cant charge more just because you use a tracked machine, a tracked machine will get to places better than a wheeled one is as simple as that, cons are you have to be careful on grass where as a wheeled machine is a bit more forgiving (depending on the operator) no punctures as well with tracks.

As said above plus

Pros

Stumps are the same price but quicker and easier work so you earn that way.

upgrade to a 38 from your 460 and it will get more places

Heavy enough to assist the occasional fell

running costs are much the same, poss use less teeth on a tracked grinder as the smaller machine notices blunt teeth sooner but only minimal difference

cons

you can’t run it up ramps into your tipper (assuming you’re running transit size truck) with chip and towing chipper so it makes the stump another trip or another truck and trailer on site
