Design student developing new forestry product

Recommended Posts

Thanks Andy Collins, you've given me some useful things to think about. Stability will definitely be improved by a wider distance between wheels so I will make those changes. It shouldn't interfere with the backpack straps. The vise position will have to be changed around a bit. I will have to put some padding on the main section to provide some comfort when it's on the back.

Please keep up with the comments it's great to hear your opinions.

i used to put all my kit on my back when working in the woods, it was an old alloy frame rucksack stripped down. saw on the bottone horizontally, combi can ontop, felling lever and maul either side and wedges in the top pouch. on the deck it was a work of art, but try carrying it over uneven ground or over brash, the risk of ankle injury is to high for me. and when you fall and get covered in fuel when the plastic ends break on the ground isnt cool, i now use a tracked wheelbarrow.:001_cool: lol. Forestery guys arent arbs, they dont spend £500 on trousers and boots once a year and have tinted visors on their stein lids, they will have an old pair of stihl wellies, sown up sappy trousers and an old husky lid.

Bob has a great trolley seat combo for his assesments. i am sure he will be along:001_smile:

All this information is quite sensitive so I have to be careful about what details I post. But it would be useful for you to see some images

what about if the wheels are on a kinda T bar that pulls out so you dont get mud clogged up in the mechanism
