Building Trade Database

Hi,

 

I have been approached by a company called building trade database to carry out all tree surgery in a certain area. They are commission based and charge a one of charge to get set up of £200 +VAT.

 

Anyone heard of them? Or should i stay clear?

id steer well clear of anyone offering to give you ALL work in a certain area. if the figure they wanted was nearer £20,000 it might be worth taking more seriously!

£200+vat admin charges per year plus the following charges for each job they get you....

Contract Value (ex VAT) BTD Commission % (+ VAT);

Up to £999 0%

First £1,000-£9,999 2.5%

First £10,000-£24,999 2.0%

First £25,000-£49,999 1.5%

First £50,000-£99,999 1.0%

First 100,000 plus 0.5%

 

EXAMPLE: Breakdown on a contract of £150,000

£9,999 @ 2.5% = £250

£15,000 @ 2.0% = £300

£25,000 @ 1.5% = £375

£50,000 @ 1.0% = £500

£50,000 @ 0.5% = £250

Tell em where to go mate, dont have experience of this particular firm but we (midkent builders) get that type of thing from time to time.

Just office divs acting as an agency trying to claw money out of your pocket!

 

I certainly wouldnt entertain anything like that.

 

Give me £200 and I'll pass on all the tree work that I get in my local area!

 

I've just offered you the same deal, what dya think?

Thanks guys.

 

He just phoned back and I asked for some of his references since he wanted some of mine. My battery must have died or bad line because suddenly he wasn't there!!

 

All I want is bit more regular work for my business. It is true - word of mouth is the best and that takes time.
