Every adjustable oiler I have is set to max flow.

 

This is a Mastermind ported saw complete with finger ports and huge compression, running straight rapeseed through an HO oiler. It's a 5 year old video. I still have this bar.

In the original post he asks about adding STP or similar, I imagine to help with the fling. If you are thinking of environmental reasons this is definitely counter intuitive as they are hydrocarbon based.

The less time you spend on bar and chain maintenance, the more time and money you will spend on saw maintenance.
