what are the facts on the growth annaully across the uk on ALL trees and shrubs, and the same with removals, prunings,etc. someone must have done a study on this. I would think personally the country has more coverage now than it has done in decades. :001_smile:

i think that after the rape of woodlands particuluary the north woods during the war periods tree cover dropped to 8% it now stands at 12% though i may be corrected on these figures?

 

we have a long way to go!

i think we are about 16% and you guys are neared 8% i was corrected about it afew months back, but how many tonnes a day does our countryside grow and how much gets cut down, i remember being in nz, 10 years ago and i was tolf possoms ate 20,000 tons a night:sneaky2::001_smile:

They've trapped/killed so many possums now that figure must be less these days.

 

My missus is from NZ and we go once a year for a month. When they decided to curb the possums the bait lines used to catch 150 a night (on her dads farm)!! There must have been a few out there!
