I only use steel signs , they are cheap ( 600mm men at work with "Tree Felling" in panel £23.50 +vat) they are rugged and rarely fall over. They are heavy but I have a gap between the cab and the tipper where we keep 2 slid in. I have had some metal signs for 10 years.

well i dont know many companies who would put much more than 2 men at work signs and a few cones out on a residential street

 

But it's like all the other debates on here - do you get a waste carriers license? do you get your gear checked for LOLER regs? do you get an MOT for your truck? You should do all of these things by law. Everyone on here seems to have different ideas on which laws it's okay to ignore!

Well at the end of the day its up to the individual whether or not he wishes to follow all the rules to the letter or not, but signing etc is CRIMINAL law, not civil, which means if there is an incident, and all hell breaks loose, your goose will be well and truly cooked.

Full (rollup-flexi) Chapter 8 is 352 quid plus vat. At Buxtons it 550 plus vat.

 

No point in buying rigid signs as they can easily be salvaged from hedgerows over time.

what about flat-pack 750mm cone mounted signs?

 

10 * 750mm cones = ~£55.00

 

cone mounted signs = ~£12.50 each

 

cone + sign = ~£18.00
