No we dont use a crane. We use a 360 digger to load the chipper. We find that its faster as we can chip tree surgery waste with this far easier than a crane. Also then we can use the digger for many different things too.

Regarding the power output, we use JD7930's but have just bought a new Valtra 202 producing 280hp, but we have had the tractor chipped to produce this power.

So you have boosted the power of a Valtra T202 (211HP) by ~34% to get 280HP off what was already the largest tractor in the T range driveline rather than go up to the S range with the bigger stronger driveline :001_rolleyes:

It was a special build from the factory. It's doing this horse power but using less fuel than the T range and it was a lot cheaper than the T range to buy.

100% grant ? are you sure ?

You see my business is part time so i have real problems raising the money for a bigger chipper , and yes i already have a loan

The grants are great for people who already have the funds

I have to find £30,000 or more first then wait for the grant money and try and sell a secondhand chipper which could take a while

Having to wait possibly 7 months is a long time to wait

Yes 100% full details at the address below

23 November 2009 - Press Release - DECC invites applicants for £1.5 million Bio-energy infrastructure grants - Department of Energy and Climate Change

Other downsides besides slow payment is that machinery has to be unique to biomass production so tractors and trucks are not eligible and the scheme does not apply to Scotland
