I’ve etch primed (some mad expensive green stuff) and 2-packed brand new plain aluminium sides (with no rubbing down/prep etc other than a degrease) as per your top picture, and subsequently vinyl sign written straight on top once dry. Still all in place now 7 or 8 years later. Had a few flies and dandelion seeds in it though as I sprayed it outside on a day like today... (You could only notice if up very close!).

They are on boards

But can’t see why the stickers would not stick to the paint as it would be the same if you had painted any area of any metal  it’s the paint that the stickers are being stick on to not the alloy planks

Struggling to find any pics of the vans I painted. Both these were done at the same time, both bare ali (the Dyna was aluminium planks that were a couple of years old when painted, the Iveco had brand new aluminium sheets). As said, etch primer followed by blue 2-pack, then yellow vinyl straight on top. This pic was after 5 years or so, and they weren’t looked after. The paint never lifted/bubbled - it worked brilliantly.

I have been quoted just under a £1000 to paint each truck

or

£300 ish to wrap...

We have a compressor and spray gun, tempted to go down the diy route...
