My long suffering, often thrown and booted, clonked and knocked and scratched husqy helmet has done its 3 year service and, to be a legal little eagle, I suppose I'd better retire it and get a new one.

Which helmet is the dogs pods?

N.B. I like Black.

Depends whether you want muffs or plugs.

For muffs

vertex vent or kong magic, both in black.

If you go with plugs, the grivel salamander in black is very nice

Is it 3 years? Mmm, in that case I need a new one too. I have the vertex vent at the moment in a very fetching mango colour.

How does the Kong magic compare?

BTW Peter, don't you find black helmets a bit hot in the summer?

There are some nice looking Black Diamond lids on Treeworker.com - does anyone know if there are compatible with visor and muffs etc?

You cant fit muffs and visor, no.

There is a newish kong helmet that will take muffs and visor, but I'v not actually seen one.

Our top selling helmets are Husky helmets and Vertex helmets (blacks the most popular by far). The fact that you can use the same fittings on both is a bonus, so you only need one lot of spares

ive got a black vertex but i dont think black is a good choice as its not very hi vis. from a h&s veiw point white or red would be better.
