i just use the big petzl carrytool instead of the small one, its way stronger and has a bigger gate so less fumbling.

snapped a couple of the smaller ones. the big one has been on for a good number of months.

I lost the wire from my first caritool on the first tree I climbed with it in place. watched it fall off and dissapear under a pile of willow. I have had some webbing attached to my harness and clip my snap biner into it then use oval mallion to attach saw -works for me!

I find the caritools are great to run the tail end of your rope through when spiking up trees as you can keep the rope away from the stem thus reducing the likelyhood of you spiking your rope.

I will be getting my new Treeflex next week, So I'm anxious to try it out , it is a Christmas gift and is gonna be late...BUT I'm typing this on a new MacBook pro that was an early gift :) so it all evens out...lol
