Hi,does anyone use one of these to tune there chainsaw?I bought one and can set the idle but when I try the high revs the screen just goes blank/turns off.Any idea what may be wrong?I have set it for the one cylinder setting .s-l500.jpg.1df0103c32d0f664f86a462de75b29e4.jpg

Yeh you got the wrong one...... I know that you think well that’s no help. But I had the same prob.

Except, I brought off AliExpress and got onto the seller they wanted a pic of the box, I was still none the wiser. They got another sent from the factory.

 

but this is where it gets interesting, the new one that was sent was in a different colour box,  and this did the same thing.

it turned out the original one I brought was/should have been the correct one. But they must have put the wrong one in the box. The new one that was sent was the wrong one. And now I got the whole picture.

 

one type is to only rev to 5k but goes blank at about 7k and resets. The other is the one I wanted (which I first brought) should rev to 15 or 20k

 

so after a faf I ended up buying a different type that needed a battery, but the battery cost just as much as the tach

 

i hope this helps. If you need more info I would need to look up what/where/when I brought it
