Just put an 18" on and run 68 link chain.
You need to adjust the end of the ram to stop it going too far back but otherwise its better in every way with 18" bar.

What is it that needs adjusting?  Looking at it with the longer bar it'll hit at the end of the cutting stroke with the ram fully extended?

For those wanting to know the issue with an 18” bar is at full stroke. Just adjust block for the limit switch which is held by two 8mm bolts on top of the ram. Try it without the chain to be sure.
