Found this located at the base of an Atlas Cedar today. Haven’t seen anything like this before, especially on a cedar and I’m struggling trying to ID it online and haven’t got an fungi book on hand. Any help would be great [emoji1303]

Desiccated fruitbody of Phaeolus schweinitzii

Thank you looks like the one to me! Being desiccated does that give off more warning signs other that the already apparent fungal activity?

P. schweinitzii is an annual fruitbody, your example is the end of its maturation. It has developed, sporulated and then desiccated. Next year it ‘may’ develop a new fruitbody.
