Yep yep, exactly what I thought it was......

 

Nope not at all.  I had Flamulina in my head on site but wasn't 100% happy with that.  Have been looking on google since posting this thread and ruled that out.

 

The Oak in question came up pretty sound on the picus, despite some signs on the outside indicating otherwise.

 

What does this fungus do?

 

ps, I was going to call you today and see if we could catch up as I was on your patch(the bishops avenue), time ran a bit short though.

Root dysfunction and eventually white rot type decay.

 

Shame you didn’t have time, but we got called to a couple of oaks that got blown to pieces by a massive lightning strike during that big downpour around mid day.

Collybia was one of the ones I was trying to think of.  Always get that and flamulina mixed up
