i recently got a zubat and i went for the new large tooth version, it seems a lot more effort and not as smooth in the cut, probably faster on very soft wood but as an all round saw im not so sure, ive kind of got used to it now so i was wondering if any one else has tried one.

Chap at work has the larger saw (different name can't remember) which also has coarser pitch, he also says he would rather it was a bit finer for smoother cuts when pruning. My Zubat is 7.5 which I would stick with for a replacement especially given what you have said.

It’ll be better once worn in, I use the Zubat arborist, very aggressive when new but wears in nicely

yes it does seem to be getting better.
