Hi Chaps

This is my first post on your site, so I started with a silly pun.

I have been out of tree work for just over eight years, working abroad. In the new year I will be back in the UK and would like to get back into tree work.

I was a commercial tree surgeon from 1971 till 2001. I have RFS Cert ARb, TWTS, plus NPTC 10. 13. 14. 15.

Reading some of your post and job descriptions on this and other sites, am I still able to work? Things have moved on and I don't recognize many of the qualifications asked for.

My intrest is high quality domestic tree work in or out of UK.

Your quals are still valid.

The only thing that has changed really is the requirement to do refresher training. Since you have been off the tools for a while it may be worth updating your nptcs.

You could do medium fell, CS32, which includes takedown of hung up trees, and aerial rescue CS38, and that would give you pretty much a full set.

You should also get a first aid ticket.

Good luck.
