we have got instrictors who have been in the work field. BTS utilties, self employed, overseas work. We try and do as much as we can in the 2 days a week were there. learnt loads on here to. Just need more climbibg practice..hence getting the kit.

 

Il check friday what kit i need.

you never did much limb walking Jay!! agree with you the college has still got a lot of growing to do..jason does his best.

 

no steve tought me more about limb walking in 5 mins the other day than every been told before! yes jason is brilliant! just the college and some of the others there.

everyone i know has a weak link on flip line usually a 20 or 30 cm sling basketed

in this way 3 way cras are spot on imo for this

yes you can use mallions but the must be done up with a spanner

Personally I use a friction hitch on my flipline, so thats my weak point, plus its easier to back off when weighted, but i'd still go 3 way on a side strop never known it to be a problem.

yes i agree its got me started and ive learnt alot and i can climb a tree and use a chainsaw. but i think if i was up against someone on the same course at merrist wood i think they would be far better. but then thats a well established arb college.

erm not sure havent kept up to date on that thread. its near ipswich in suffolk. hope i havent put you off. lol. its a good college and seems popular for alot of arb students and im sure its just time it need to get better established with resources.

surely college lecturers should have been in the job all their lives

 

the main man has been doing it for 15 years , dont know about the rest.
