Morning everyone just after some advice with the online abc level 2 cert arb course just wondering what books you use for reference or internet pages as they ask for books/ author, so was wondering what way people have done there's to get the info required ?

Hi all, I bought this course, as it was advertised as a beginner's course, but when it arrived it said degree level, any tips, as im not finding the reading very helpful, and the questions are not worded very well, I'm researching online or books myself, as I'm not getting much from the material provided.

Just wondering if there are any online tutorials to go with this course, I did ask the tutor, but he said just use YouTube, which wasn't very helpful, I was hoping for something that is specific to each module, any recommendations?

These lectures are free, go via Arb association website, probably more info than you need currently but the concepts can be difficult to grasp from a book. Even if you only grasp half of it, that’s going in the right direction [emoji652]️

Hi all Q2 as well choosing 5 trees for each site, shallow soil chalk in exposed maritime position, a heavy clay soil with ph of 6.0 and shelterbelt planting on dry soil, you must, in relation to site conditions, outline the factors most relevant to successful tree selection and establishment. What factors are you guys looking for?

Final established height, rooting depth, potential sail area, susceptibility to pests and disorders, existing planting and light/moisture availablility on site and maintenance cycles once established will give you enough to start with I would say!!

I've been thinking of doing this same course through HCC for a while but a bit sceptical about home learning/ online courses. Do you really learn or just Google the answers? How are the tutors at replying to your questions?
