Help pricing a job

A Forest school runs in my woods and they need wheelchair access. So they have asked my me to mill enough planks for 50 meters to make a path into the camp area. I'm going to use the Scots pine which is already there. Each plank is going to between 46cm and 60cm wide. I was thinking that 3cm should be thick enough. The path will be 2 planks wide.

So the question is 100m x46cm x 3cm of Scots Pine planked, how much should I charged?

So you're looking at 100 planks then...

I don't think 3cm will be enough IMO you want at least 5cm really unless the boards are well attached to some runners underneath.

How much do you charge? Tricky one but if you said £8-00 per board....

See what other people reckon...

Will that be wide enough for 2 wheel chairs to pass?

Even at 2 x 60cm it sounds a bit tight.

Might need passing points as well.

Price wise its about 1.4m3 (49.5 cu ft)

I would guess that £15-20 per cu ft would be about right so total cost of £742 to £990 (so £8 per board is about right if it takes 100 boards)

But you do need thicker than 3cm unless the frame work is very close set so that will up the cost.

Thanks guys! Yeah I thought 3cm thickness was being too tight I'll price for 5cm thickness.

Just had a look a maximum width of a wheelchair and it looks to be about 66cm. So 120cm seems to be a good width. I'll asked if they need planks for passing points.
