Thanks. I've spoken to the vet who commented that it's good that we fed the pup within an hour of him MAYBE eating the fungi as this could help to buffer anything nasty. He said that he could induce vomiting but due to the pup's very young age this may not be a good idea under the circumstances. He advised just monitoring the pup - if anything untoward starts in the next 24 hours then we will of course act immediately.

I would though still love to know what type of mushroom it is.

We've dogs ourselves, so I can appreciate the worry and concerns you are suffering. I'm sure that a positive ID would help, should the pup have actually eaten something.

Some of the toxic species may take several hours before vomiting occurs in humans, by which time damage has already occured to the liver and kidneys, so the vets advice seems a little strange. I do hope that he hasn't eaten anything, and if he has, it isn't anything toxic.

Thanks, that looks possible from looking that one up online. So are you 100% certain? :)

Is there any more info that I can give you or more photos that I can take which may help like slicing the mushroom down the middle?

Two more photos in next post (sorry, the formatting went wrong in this one).

First one was taken WITH a flash but that makes it look more brown in colour, however the second one is better in terms of colour accuracy.

See next post for pics.
