I found the following under the shade of a cherry blossom tree - not much of a smell to the fungi, just 'earthy'.

Unfortunately my puppy MAY have eaten some, hence the urgent ID request.

Pics as follows:

Thanks

If you PM him he 'may' get a notification on a phone that alerts him. Or may not.

If you can't get a positive ident. on this very soon, do you really want to risk delaying? I've looked through some books and apps but can't identify with any certainty what it may be. Some toxic species may take a few hours before the effects begin to materialise.

Can you induce vomiting, or get it to the vets just in case.

Is the pup unwell ?

No, he seems fine thankfully.

It's equally possible that he didn't touch it at all, it's just that my wife saw him in the area of the mushrooms and something in his mouth, but when she grabbed him all he appeared to drop was a leaf. That doesn't of course mean that he didn't chomp on one of the mushrooms as well though.

Thanks. I've spoken to the vet who commented that it's good that we fed the pup within an hour of him MAYBE eating the fungi as this could help to buffer anything nasty. He said that he could induce vomiting but due to the pup's very young age this may not be a good idea under the circumstances. He advised just monitoring the pup - if anything untoward starts in the next 24 hours then we will of course act immediately.

I would though still love to know what type of mushroom it is.
